Postponement of the 2020 annual conference

The Secretariat for to the Cree Nation Abitibi-Témiscamingue Economic Alliance (hereinafter called the Secretariat) announces the postponement of its annual conference which was to be held, in Amos, on June 10 and 11, 2020, under the theme: Energy and environment in a Nordicity context. Organized in partnership with Ville d’Amos and the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) / Cree Nation Government, this conference offered extensive programming and renowned speakers.

In order to comply with the guidelines and directives issued by the federal and provincial governments in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and also to ensure that we offer programming commensurate with the efforts made by the organization and its collaborators and partners, Chairman of the Board, Drs Ted Moses has decided to postpone this event to a later date.

The Secretariat will continue to provide information and activities, as well as support for economic alliances between the Cree Nation, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Jamésie, and Nunavik. In preparation for the economic recovery which will have to follow this global situation, webinars and other virtual training and information tools will therefore soon be offered.

The Secretariat retains its mandate to support the Cree Nation and its role as liaison and facilitator.
